Question: Is it true horses teeth grow their whole life?
Answer: No ~ They erupt and the reserve crown replaces ground off crowns (See above pictures)

Question: Is a missing tooth actually a terminal situation?
Answer: Yes ~ The opposing tooth will super erupt into the space and eventually could be "terminal" if not corrected.

Question: Does a horse's chewing motion correct dental problems?
Answer: No ~ Problems will always get worse or they wouldn't develop in the first place. Once corrected the horses teeth should be maintained to prevent future reoccurrence.

Question: Can dental problems cause lameness?
Answer: Yes ~ Can cause a horse to hold their head sideways and in a couple of cases, a constant hacking cough, were caused from dental problems that affected the TMJ or causing TMJ pressure.

  Question: Do horses loose their baby teeth (caps) on their own?
  Answer: Not always ~ Most horses need help, especially important in performance horses.
